Resort has a nice personal feel with only 62 rooms and I enjoyed the cooking class.
Only a few minutes walk from shopping area & ferry terminal.

Montra Resort & Spa Koh Tao :
Around 5-10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal. This 4 year old beach-front resort has a large, open foyer which sweeps around to the pool area with swim-up bar. The Superior rooms are large in size and can accommodate 2 adults and an additional adult on a roll-away or 2 children. The Superior room type has 2 views, one over the pool area, the other over the gardens. The rooms go right up to a Junior Suites are large and can accommodate up to 6 people. There is also a good option for honeymoon couples in the private plunge pool rooms, these are a good option for privacy and a private pool. All rooms have air-conditioning.
Montra Cooking School :
The cooking school is set up to cook 4 dishes including 1 desert and would be ideal for couples or small family groups. The cooking school takes place in the main open-air restaurant, beside the pool and allows for clients to experience real Thai cooking with a local chef. You're given a chefs hat and apron, along with a cookery book to keep and a certificate. Prices were around NZD$50 per person and the duration is around 2-3 hours. Cooking near to a meal time is a good option as you will cook enough to satisfy a main meal.

KOH TAO MONTRA RESORT & SPA - Koh Tao
We were met at the Koh Tao Pier by the hotel in a minivan. The transfer was only a couple of minutes and then we arrived at the 4 star Montra Resort. This beachfront resort combines elegant Thai designs, modern architecture and is only 4 years old. I think it would be perfect for families and couples alike. The resort is set around a beautiful pool with different levels and offers a combination of sea view / pool view and standard back view rooms. It is very close to the ferry and central town, really only a 2 minute walk away. No Tuk Tuk's on Koh Tao, the place seemed to be full of motor scooters and 4WD Ute's. I would totally recommend this hotel, it had a lovely relaxed haven sort of feel about it. We also had a very enjoyable Thai cooking class on our last evening there.

Koh Tao Montra Resort & Spa
Lovely Modern, 4 star property situated right on the beachfront. The rooms are spacious and welcoming with most overlooking the resort and refreshing pool area. Only a short 2-3 minute walk to the main town area and pier. I would highly recommend this property for couples, groups of friends and also suitable for families with older children. Being closer to the town area I would recommend upgrading from the Standard to the Superior rooms that overlook the resort which also may reduce any noise if there was a large local event on in the town. This property has a swim up bar, nice restaurant area and relatively clean beachfront to enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The hotel staff are all very friendly and helpful and are happy to arrange activities such as the Thai Cooking Class which they do onsite, or hire a long tail to go over to Nangyuan Island, a 10-20 minute ride away.

This is our second stay at Montra and we hope to return in the near future. The staffs are very helpful and friendly. The pool is lovely. A very pleasant place to stay and lovely rooms and good qualities

Hi Pismai,
Once again i would like to Thank you for organizing our GREAT wedding ceremony, everything was perfect! We will keep a Great souvenir of that wonderful time. Great ceremony, great resort and great service.
The part about putting the rose on the bed with the little note was just perfect! After our candle light diner we walked back to the room and when she saw the rose and the note, she had tears in her eyes... it was such a wonderful moment. Yesterday she send me a little message telling me that she was thinking about that moment and that she will never forget the image of the rose and the note on the bed. So not only you organize a great wedding ceremony above our expectation but you also paid attention to little personal detail that make some memorable moment for the bride and groom. And i thank you very much for that!
I will recommend your resort to the peoples i talk to but unfortunately i can not show it on my Facebook, blog and internet site since i don't have the picture on the CD.
